Position OverviewA growing Japanese chemical trading company is seeking a detail-oriented Logistics & Customer Operations Specialist to support daily logistics operations, order fulfillment, inventory coordination, and customer service activities. This role serves as a key liaison between customers, warehouses, carriers, and internal teams to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant shipment execution.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to ensure on-time delivery and operational efficiency
- Monitor inventory levels, perform reconciliations, and identify potential shortages
- Process customer orders and provide timely status updates
- Communicate with customers, warehouses, and transportation providers to manage delivery schedules and resolve issues
- Manage shipping, customs, and transportation documentation while ensuring regulatory compliance
- Review freight options and transportation costs to support cost‑effective logistics planning
- Maintain accurate shipment records and ERP system data
- Support customer invoicing processes and ensure billing accuracy
- Investigate and resolve logistics, delivery, and customer service issues
- Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and service performance
- Maintain organized documentation to support audits and compliance requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in logistics, supply chain operations, customer service, order processing, or administrative support
- Familiarity with transportation, inventory management, and shipping processes
- Experience with ERP or order management systems (SAP or similar platforms preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Japanese language skill and/or experience with Japanese companies are a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Customer‑focused mindset with strong problem‑solving capabilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
- Proactive approach to issue resolution and continuous improvement
