Driver Class B-Truck Driver - HAZMAT & Emergency Response

Clean Harbors in North Amityville, NY is seeking a Class B CDL Driver to operate light and heavy‑duty trucks and equipment at customer sites for hazardous waste clean‑up. The driver will also perform non‑driving duties on and off site, may be on call for emergency response, and will attend a two‑week training academy. Hourly pay is $32–$33.

• Ensure health and safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes.
• Operate commercial trucks and assist field laborers when needed in a team atmosphere.
• Operate a variety of Class B trucks, including vacuum trailers, roll‑off trailers, van trailers, box trucks, and high‑powered vacuum loaders.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Ensure customer satisfaction at the time of service.
• Properly placard vehicles to meet company and DOT requirements/regulations.
• Maintain daily logs, timesheets, and various reports.
• Follow all local, state, and federal compliance regulations and rules.
• Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Be on call for emergency response on a rotating basis every other week.
• Participate in site remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling of hazardous materials.

• Valid Class B CDL.
• Ability to operate a manual transmission.
• Obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsement.
• Ability to use various mobile devices.
• Perform physical functions required for the job.
• Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical examination.

• Commercial driver experience.
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsement.
• Previous Hazmat experience.
• Previous manual labor experience.
