Transit Driver

A Transit driver is responsible for transporting clients from their pickup point to their destination in a timely and safe manner. Using a vehicle to successfully transport people, performing pre-trip inspections, performing child checks post-route, and keeping their vehicle within DOT regulations are the most important tasks of the driver.

Position Overview We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Transit Driver to join our team. This position is responsible for transporting passengers along assigned routes while ensuring a high standard of customer service and adherence to all safety regulations. This is a full-time, year-round position with a consistent weekday schedule. Monday - Friday schedule

Responsibility Profile:

Safely operate a transit vehicle along assigned routes and schedules

Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections

Ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers during transport

Maintain accurate records, including logs and incident reports

Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures

Provide courteous and professional customer service

Communicate effectively with dispatch and management as needed

Qualifications

Valid driver’s license with appropriate endorsements

Clean driving record

Previous commercial driving or transit experience preferred

Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and physical examination

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Dependable with a strong commitment to safety and punctuality

Required endorsements:
Passenger, School bus, general knowledge, airbrakes
