Position: Fleet CDL Driver (Class A, B or C )
Location: New York

Responsibilities

The Fleet Driver is responsible for maintaining an efficient, well organized community outreach vehicle (COV) and cargo van at the assigned Healthfirst marketing location. The driver is accountable for the daily operations on the assigned COV/cargo van, is liable for all marketing materials on the assigned vehicle, orders marketing supplies, performs daily set up and break down, and ensures interior cleanliness and maintenance of the vehicle.

The driver will ensure that Healthfirst Marketing Representatives, Facilitated Enrollers and Managers are in an acceptable environment to perform their function of enrolling members into our plans. The driver checks the interior and exterior of the vehicle for cosmetic and operational concerns, performs minor maintenance tasks such as daily inspections and engine fluid checks, and maintains confidentiality by keeping all potential client documentation in a secure, locked location within the COV/cargo van.

The driver provides all documentation to the respective Facilitated Enrollment employee within 24 hours of receipt.

The responsibilities also include setting up marketing equipment and materials (promotional merchandise, gazebos, lemonade stands), transporting boxes of marketing materials (up to 100 lbs.) to Healthfirst offices and marketing locations, conducting inventory checks of necessary supplies, ordering supplies as needed, complying with local traffic regulations and DOT regulations while driving, and assisting in development and training of newly hired drivers.

The driver builds relationships and maintains good working relationships within the Fleet division of Sales Operations and Facilitated Enrollment Department, informs Fleet Management and Facilitated Enrollment Management of all changes and incidents, and assists Marketing Representatives and Facilitated Enrollers with administrative functions such as making copies, identifying EMEVs on computer, and obtaining necessary supplies. Additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a professional commercial driver.
  • NY, NJ or CT Class A, B or C Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with commercial driving experience and current knowledge of CDL requirements, zero points and no previous DWI or DUI convictions.
  • Must provide evidence of completed DOT physical exam.
  • Flexibility to work assigned 3 ten-hour shifts Monday through Friday and a mandatory ten-hour shift on Saturday or Sunday; 40-hour work week minimum with all shifts starting at 7:00 am.
  • Knowledge and ability to perform basic vehicle inspection and maintenance including tire pressure, checking oil and water levels.
  • Knowledge of reading and interpreting maps and driving directions.
  • Knowledge of navigating the Internet using mapping websites on computer and Blackberry.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information and files.
  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Communicate professionally and courteously with all internal and external partners and a varied population.
Compliance & Regulatory Responsibilities

NY, NJ or CT Class A, B or C Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and completed DOT physical exam are required. Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations is mandatory.

Compensation & Benefits

Hiring Range*:
Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $48,600 - $65,960. All Other Locations (within approved locations): $42,200 - $62,400. Salary and related compensation are contingent upon experience, education, licenses, and certifications.
