Job Overview

AAA Northeast is hiring a Roadside Service Tech I - Tow to provide safe, best‑in‑class roadside solutions for AAA members while ensuring positive member experiences and meeting performance standards.

Location:

New York, NY 10034. Position Type:
Full‑time. Shift: 3rd shift (4x10) with additional overnight, evening, and weekend differentials. Salary: $23.50 - $27.00 per hour, with shift differentials and potential monthly/quarterly bonuses.

• Accept calls, respond to dispatch, and manage ETA to destination.
• Assess safety of the scene, calm members, and handle technical aspects of the situation.
• Provide minor mechanical assistance, battery boosts, and tow vehicles as needed.
• Maintain service vehicle, equipment, and inventory; perform safety checks.
• Operate vehicle computer to update call information and collect revenue.
• Promote AAA products and services and collaborate with dispatch for member destinations.
• Work independently with minimal face‑to‑face contact and adapt to a 24/7 schedule.
• Prevent damage and injury when securing tow points and managing vehicle dynamics.
• Support fleet locations as needed, including nights, extended hours, weekends, and holidays.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• At least 21 years old.
• Post‑secondary training in automotive mechanics preferred.
• Familiarity with electrical troubleshooting preferred.

• Active and valid driver’s license issued by only one state or jurisdiction.
• Satisfactory motor‑vehicle record check during pre‑hire screening and periodically thereafter.

• Pay range: $23.50 - $27.00 per hour.
• Shift differentials: +$2.75 per hour overnight (10pm–6am), +$1.75 per hour evening (6pm–10pm), +$1 per hour weekend.
• Sign‑on bonus: $2,500 earned in two installments after 3 and 6 months of employment.
• Annual bonuses and monthly/quarterly incentives possible.
