Position Description
Immediately Hiring and Seating a Class A CDL Shuttle Driver and we want the right Transfer Driver to join us at Ryder in Rock Tavern, NY.
Driver Positions Pay Weekly. Hourly Pay: $22 per hour. Home Time:
Local – Home Daily. Mon‑Fri, no weekends.
Hours:
1st shift, 8 am–5 pm, 40 hrs per week. Manual restriction ok. Paid training.
Route:
Shuttle equipment between Ryder customer facilities. Freight: no touch – empty trailers for equipment shuttle transfer movement. Transferring rental equipment/delivering trucks to customers or parts (straight trucks, vans, day cabs, sleepers, cabovers, etc., based on what needs to be transferred). Parts pick‑up.

- Ryder Drivers are the Captain of their ship—I trust and support our drivers to make driving condition decisions to keep you safe
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Pass a Ryder drug test
- Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
- Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor‑trailer or comparable vehicle:
- 9 months experience within the past three years, OR
- 2 years’ experience within the last five years, OR
- 5 years’ experience within the last ten years
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures
- Safely drive a commercial vehicle; compliance with safety and DOT regulations; continuous training and customer service
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines
- Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
- Maintain accurate records and logs; other tasks as assigned
