Location: Rock Tavern

Position Description

Immediately Hiring and Seating a Class A CDL Shuttle Driver and we want the right Transfer Driver to join us at Ryder in Rock Tavern, NY.

Driver Positions Pay Weekly. Hourly Pay: $22 per hour. Home Time:
Local – Home Daily. Mon‑Fri, no weekends.

Hours:

1st shift, 8 am–5 pm, 40 hrs per week. Manual restriction ok. Paid training.

Route:
Shuttle equipment between Ryder customer facilities. Freight: no touch – empty trailers for equipment shuttle transfer movement. Transferring rental equipment/delivering trucks to customers or parts (straight trucks, vans, day cabs, sleepers, cabovers, etc., based on what needs to be transferred). Parts pick‑up.

Requirements
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder drug test
  • Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor‑trailer or comparable vehicle:
    • 9 months experience within the past three years, OR
    • 2 years’ experience within the last five years, OR
    • 5 years’ experience within the last ten years
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures
Responsibilities
  • Safely drive a commercial vehicle; compliance with safety and DOT regulations; continuous training and customer service
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines
  • Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
  • Maintain accurate records and logs; other tasks as assigned
