Bus Attendant

6:00am-8:00am and 4:00pm-6:00pm

Compensation: $22/hour

• Bus Attendants protect and supervise scholars to and from their homes.
• Manage behavior to ensure all scholars are safe.
• Establish behavior on the bus that matches what is expected in classrooms.
• Work approximately 4 hours per day in two 2-hour shifts. Hours vary by bus route but must be available approximately between 6:00am-8:00am and 4:00pm-6:00pm.

• Supervise scholars while on the bus, strictly enforcing behavioral expectations.
• Seat scholars based on their behavior and bus stop order.
• Transition scholars in organized lines between the school building and the bus.
• Call the school after the last scholar is dropped off, so that staff can leave.
• Call the school if a parent is not at the bus stop to coordinate a pickup time.

• 21 years old and older.
• High School Diploma.
• Any experience working with children.

• Certification through the Office of Pupil Transportation (OPT) preferred.
• If not already certified at hire, can apply for certification (involves examinations, training courses, fingerprinting).
• Show alignment to Classical Charter School’s mission and approach.
• Exhibit excellent work ethic and organizational skills.
• Demonstrate application of core values:

This is an hourly position.
