As a Chick-fil-A Delivery Team Member, you play a vital role in ensuring our guests receive high-quality food delivered safely, promptly, and with excellence. This role combines Back-of-House (BOH) responsibilities with delivery operations. You will prepare, package, and deliver menu items while upholding Chick-fil-A’s standards for food safety, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction. Safety is a top priority in both the kitchen and the delivery environment.

Core Job Duties & Expectations- Deliver orders accurately, courteously, and on time, ensuring high guest satisfaction.
- Verify, package, and secure food orders before departure; ensure accurate labeling and temperature control.
- Maintain delivery route awareness—use bike lanes, avoid restricted areas, and comply with all local traffic and e-bike laws.
- Assist with BOH food preparation, cooking, and packaging when not delivering.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, food prep areas, utensils, and equipment.
- Restock and replenish supplies as needed and ensure kitchen readiness for rush periods.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, leadership, and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Complete trash removal around the restaurant
- Follow all Chick-fil-A and local food safety standards, including handwashing, temperature monitoring, and proper storage.
- Prevent cross-contamination by adhering to allergen safety and FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
- Clean, sanitize, and organize all food contact surfaces, equipment, and storage areas throughout the shift.
- Conduct and document food temperature checks and report any discrepancies or hazards to management.
All Chick-fil-A Delivery Team Members must comply with NYC and state bicycle laws and company safety policies. You are responsible for maintaining and operating delivery bikes safely and professionally.
Mandatory Equipment & Gear:
- Properly fitting helmet, front white headlight, rear red taillight, and reflective materials for visibility.
- Bell or horn audible from at least 100 feet.
- Reliable brakes, properly inflated tires, and regular mechanical inspections.
- High-visibility clothing/vest, gloves, and safety pads where appropriate.
- Body cameras must remain powered on, recording, and fully charged during delivery shifts.
- Obey all traffic signals, signs, and right-of-way rules.
- Ride in the direction of traffic and stay within bike lanes when available.
- Do not ride on sidewalks or in restricted zones.
- Avoid distractions such as texting, headphone use, or loud music while riding.
- Report all accidents, damages, or near-misses immediately to management.
- Violations of traffic or safety rules may result in disciplinary action or loss of delivery privileges.
- Properly operate kitchen and delivery equipment (grills, fryers, ovens, bikes, etc.).
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report any malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
- Conduct routine cleaning and preventive maintenance (hood filters, grease traps, bike upkeep).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment at all times.
- Dispose of waste properly, clean drains, and ensure compliance with health and sanitation standards.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, verifying product quality, and rotating stock as needed.
