CDL Truck Driver - East End Roll Off

Pay and Shift

Pay Range: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour. Shift starts at 5:00 am and ends at the end of the day, Monday through Friday.

Drivers operate heavy-duty trucks with front, side, or rear-end load lift attachments. Depending on the line of business, drivers transport waste or recyclable material to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities when trucks reach legal load capacity. Commercial drivers are responsible for pick-up of containers, often over 1,000 lbs; they navigate high-traffic roadways, driveways, alleyways, and lots, using highly skilled backing maneuvers.

Residential drivers collect household waste or recyclables, maneuvering safely in residential environments. Roll-off drivers prepare, load, and transport large open-top or compactor containers, operating in tight overhead environments on industrial routes.

• Operate vehicle per Waste Management Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA, and DOT requirements, and all applicable laws.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and document checks using the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR).
• Immediately report unsafe situations or service issues to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
• Attend and participate in all scheduled trainings, briefings, and meetings as required.
• Work closely with the Operations Manager to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.
• Notify Operations Manager of incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
• Notify Operations Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions such as closed streets, impassable alleyways, or heavy receptacles.
• Communicate customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
• Completely dump all receptacles, leaving the customer’s location clean and debris-free.
• Follow route assignments and complete end-of-day documentation and check-out process.
• Perform all duties as directed by the Operations Manager or Dispatch and assist other drivers as needed.

• One year of experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL, or one year equivalent military driving within the last 7 years.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly.
• Minimum age 18 years.
• Legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located.
• CDL Class A with air-brake endorsement (or upon hire for Class B with air-brake endorsement).

• High School Diploma or GED (accredited).

• Standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing.
