Ramp Agent
Do you enjoy working outdoors in a fast‑paced, safety‑obsessed aviation environment? As a Ramp Agent you will be essential in ensuring flights run on time by providing efficient ground support services at Alliance Ground International (AGI).
Responsibilities- Guide inbound/outbound airplanes to and from the gate.
- Transport, lift, load/unload, sort, and transfer passenger baggage, cargo, and mail material in and out of aircraft bins, belt loader, or baggage carts in a safe manner.
- Safeguard customer baggage, air cargo, airmail from weather, loss, theft, damage, and/or destruction.
- Clean aircraft passenger cabins between flights and stock aircraft with needed supplies.
- Operate heavy equipment such as pushback equipment while maintaining visual contact with Wing Walkers to ensure the equipment is free of danger.
- Operate and/or drive motorized equipment—including belt loaders, air start units, lift trucks, push‑back tugs, bag cart, lavatory cart, and deicers; or manually push and pull push carts and containers.
- Move luggage and cargo, tow planes between gates, and refill water tanks and lavatories.
- Receive and record customer baggage, air freight, mail, and company materials as required.
- Pick up, deliver, and transport cargo and baggage to and from aircraft, including wheelchairs, strollers, live animals, and other vital property of passengers, and prepare records in connection with these responsibilities.
- Complete paperwork and forms related to work assignments and enter data into the company’s information system.
- Follow company procedures and protocols to ensure safe and responsible operations.
- Complete all required training per company, airport governing authority, or customer requirements.
- Practice punctuality, preparedness, and safety; be willing to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and moving items 70 pounds (32 kg) or more on a regular basis; lifting 40–50 pounds on raised surfaces.
- Carrying heavy items up and down narrow jetway stairs.
- Walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, crawling, and stooping frequently and for extended periods.
- Working in cramped or high places.
- Being alert to moving vehicles or aircraft and using radio equipment for communication.
- Working outdoors in all weather conditions and around jet and machinery noises.
- Good communication skills to convey information and instructions verbally and via radio equipment to flight crew, gate agents, and ground crew.
- Basic math skills for weight and balance calculations.
- Computer skills for tracking cargo and baggage in computer systems.
- Problem‑solving skills for troubleshooting load and unload issues.
- Time‑management skills to complete tasks efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
- At least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Valid work authorization for the United States or Canada as required.
- Complete ramp and SIDA training to obtain airport authority identification security; secure a Customs Seal if required.
- Preferred:
One or more years of relevant experience.
