Our client, a logistics and freight forwarding organization, is seeking an Ocean Import Coordinator to join their team. As an Ocean Import Coordinator, you will be part of the Operations Department supporting the freight forwarding team. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, which will align successfully in the organization.

Location:

Jamaica, NY

Pay Range: $19 - $20

Shift: 8:00AM - 5:00PM, Monday to Friday Duration: temp to hire

What's the Job?

• Provide high-quality customer service by developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and operational teams.
• Prepare, analyze, and submit documentation to ensure compliance with all applicable transportation laws and regulations.
• Anticipate, identify, and resolve issues that could delay freight movement or release.
• Coordinate with brokers, service providers, and internal teams to ensure seamless shipment processing.
• Assist with billing, payment collection, and resolving banking or letter of credit issues.

What's Needed?

• 2+ years of experience as Import Agent in freight forwarding
• Proficient computer skills and familiarity with logistics software.
• Strong customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of air export regulations, hazardous materials handling, and international trade compliance.
