The Coordinator Flight Crew is responsible for all aspects of Flight Crew member schedules within 48 hours and all operating pairings and open segments. The Coordinator ensures that during normal and irregular operations the integrity of the operation is maintained while ensuring compliance with the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and company policies and procedures. The Coordinator demonstrates the highest level of customer service while coordinating with other departments and communicating with Crew members.

  • Monitor and resolve operational disruptions and legalities within 48 hours, to Flight Crew members' schedules and pairings in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and company policies and procedures
  • Schedule and allocate Flight reserve resources for the assignment of open flying and operational coverage
  • Communicate and coordinate with System Operations to resolve daily operational irregularities
  • Continuously monitor company Electronic Mail
  • Make close-in, critical Flight Crew member notifications as necessary
  • Maintain daily checklists and shift logs, and provide verbal briefing as necessary and assigned
  • Complete other duties as assigned by Crew Services Leadership
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
  • One (1) year customer service or office experience
  • Demonstrate proficiency in math through a work sample during the hiring process
  • Solid computer background including extensive use of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently with a sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • One (1) year of Scheduling and/or Operational Experience
  • Successfully completed Crew Scheduler Initial Training and on-the-job training or working towards the completion of the qualification
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong mathematic skills
  • Strong Customer Service Skills
  • Experience with automated Crew Management Systems
  • Thorough understanding of the Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Part 117
  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on Jet Blue flights, and if time permits, all capable crew members are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the Jet Blue culture, that is, exhibit the Jet Blue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun
  • Promote Jet Blue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting Jet Blue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards
  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including Jet Blue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
  • Upholding Jet Blue’s safety performance metric goals and understanding how they relate to their duties and responsibilities

Equipment:

  • Computer and other office equipment
  • Shared work space, cubicle, fast-paced environment
  • Shift work, support operations 24 hours per day/7 days per week, some weekend coverage
  • Nontraditional work hours, shifts cover 24/7 flight schedule
  • Irregular operations occasionally cause extended work days

Physical Effort:

  • Generally not required, or up to 10 pounds occasionally, 0 pounds frequently. (Sedentary)

Compensation:

The base pay range for this position starts at $33.76 per hour. Base pay is one component of Jet Blue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crew member stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on Jet Blue, and more.
