Overview
The Medical Waste Route Driver is responsible for servicing assigned accounts in a professional manner, ensuring customers’ needs are met for various waste pickup and supply delivery. Provides the highest level of customer service. May transport waste from a WMHS location or customer location to a transfer location or processing location. All company assigned vehicles are equipped with camera telematics, ELD and GPS.
Responsibilities- Manage assigned routes ensuring customers’ waste is picked up in a safe, timely, efficient and accurate manner
- Pick up and transport waste safely according to all federal, state, and local rules and regulations
- Follow routing software route schedule
- Plan daily schedule based on customers’ needs by reviewing daily paperwork (e.g., manifest, route sheets) provided by the Transportation Manager/Supervisor or Dispatcher
- Prepare paperwork, load supplies, load and secure waste and load/unload trucks while servicing customer accounts
- Pick up specified waste from each customer site scheduled for the day and ensure waste is prepared according to regulations before transporting
- Provide the highest level of customer service to assigned accounts daily and communicate any issues to Transportation Manager/Supervisor or Dispatcher for resolution
- Ensure waste, supplies, and material handling equipment are secured prior to operating the vehicle on public highways
- Complete paperwork legibly and accurately and return to the Transportation Supervisor or Dispatcher; ensure Driver DOT logs are completed if applicable
- Communicate with WMHS Transportation Supervisor and/or Dispatcher regarding route changes or issues; ensure coverage is aware of non-standard situations
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip maintenance on the assigned truck and log hours per DOT guidelines using ELD and Geotab
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Required Qualifications
- 6 months of experience, preferably in driving a commercial motor vehicle or box trucks
- Ability to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public and complete records
- Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class B with an excellent driving record
- All CMV/CDL drivers must be able to obtain a medical card from a certified medical examiner

Safety and environmental This role is safety sensitive and requires compliance with all safety rules and protocols. The successful candidate may be subject to drug and alcohol testing including pre‑employment screening, post‑incident evaluations, reasonable suspicion checks, and random testing in accordance with government regulations and company policies.
Pay and BenefitsThe base pay is $29.25/hr this range is a good faith estimate and may vary based on experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
