As a Route Driver, you’ll operate dependable equipment, serve established customer routes, and play an important role in keeping organic waste out of landfills. - Load, haul, and deliver food waste along local, regional, and interstate routes.
- Complete approximately 15-25 stops per day based on company routing.
- Operate combination vehicles with 30- to 45-foot open-top dump trailers
. - Safely operate both manual- and automatic-transmission commercial vehicles.
- Use manual and electric pallet jacks when required.
- Use a pressure washer to rinse bins and containers while leaving customer locations clean and free of debris.
- Complete thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Use basic hand tools to make minor repairs to company bins and equipment.
- Maintain the cleanliness and basic condition of assigned equipment.
- Accurately maintain electronic DOT logs, service tickets, contamination reports, maintenance records, and other required paperwork.
- Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, dispatch, operations, and the corporate office.
- Immediately report accidents, injuries, safety concerns, and equipment issues.
- Participate in weekly safety calls, training sessions, and operational briefings.
- Use a smartphone and basic computer applications for training, communication, documentation, and expense reporting.
- Support alternate assignments and interstate routes when operational needs require them.
- Valid Class A CDL
, self-certified as a Non-Excepted Interstate driver with the issuing state. - Clean Motor Vehicle Record and PSP report.
- Stable and dependable employment history.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Comfortable operating both manual- and automatic-transmission equipment.
- Strong safety awareness, communication skills, and customer-service mindset.
- Willingness to work flexible hours based on route needs and seasonality, including up to 60 hours in seven days or 70 hours in eight days, within DOT regulations.
Candidates must also meet one of the following experience requirements:
- At least 23 years old with a minimum of two years of full-time, verifiable tractor-trailer experience
; or - At least 21 years old with one year of tractor-trailer experience and graduation from an approved truck-driving school; or
