Organizational Overview

The Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) is a non‑profit, multi‑service organization focusing primarily on the needs of children and low‑income families, out‑of‑school and out‑of‑work youth and aging New Yorkers. We operate at community centers located in the neighborhoods of East Harlem and Yorkville, and seek to deliver programs that are impactful, innovative, and intergenerational.

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Isaacs Center is seeking a Driver to operate a minibus that will transport older adults, and other authorized personnel safely and efficiently over specified routes to and from the Senior Center, other Isaacs Center locations and various sites related to activities. The driver must keep themselves and bus in compliance with NYC Aging Requirements. The Driver will conduct pre‑trip inspections;

observe safety regulations and policies; reinforce safety rules on the bus, keep the bus clean and free of debris and perform related work. In addition, they are responsible for transporting the bus for repairs, inspections, and general maintenance. The Driver is responsible for (but not limited to), operating the vehicle in a safe, courteous, and reliable manner, assisting in the onboarding and off boarding of passengers using wheelchairs or other mobility aids and properly secure their wheelchairs in the vehicle.

35 hours per week (8:00am‑4:00pm)

$25.00/hr

Candidates must have the required qualifications to be considered for the position. The salary offer will be based on the candidate’s number of years experience in the exact or comparable position and additional preferred qualifications will be taken into account.
