Export Agent – New York (JFK Airport area) – $55,000-$70,000 DOE About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Export Agent to join their team at their New York office, located near JFK Airport. This is a great opportunity for an export professional to join a high-paced, team-oriented environment, taking ownership of export shipments from pickup through to delivery.
Export Agent – The Details- $55,000-$70,000, depending on experience
- Office-based, near JFK Airport, New York
- Hours:
Monday-Friday, with flexible start options (8:00am-5:00pm, 8:30am-5:30pm, or 9:00am-6:00pm) - Fast-paced, team-based working environment
- 3-5 years' experience in export transportation/freight forwarding
- Strong understanding of US export regulations and related transportation authority requirements
- Hands-on experience using Cargo Wise
- Competent with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and general PC operations
- Experience with Letters of Credit is a plus
- Experience with Hazardous Materials is a plus
- Punctual, organized, and reliable
- Strong communicator, able to work effectively in a high-paced team environment
- Coordinate export shipments from pickup through to delivery
- Provide customer service via phone and email
- Prepare agent and client quotations
- Negotiate rates with carriers and vendors
- Issue airway bills, truck bills of lading, and other transportation documents (direct and consol)
- Prepare all necessary export documentation
Ensure compliance with CBP, FAA, TSA, and other export-related regulatory agencies
