The Logistics Specialist will perform a variety of duties across multiple sites including driving individuals, deliveries of food and mail, and Fleet oversight and maintenance.
Assist with fleet coordination, including driving vans to required appointments- Coordinates DOT inspections, preventative maintenance and oil changes, vehicle repairs, scheduling, records, and the overall management and readiness of the organization’s vehicle fleet.
- Picks up and delivers student meals and food supplies from designated locations to assigned program sites each morning, as needed.
- Ensures that food is transported safely and delivered in a timely manner to the appropriate locations.
- Sorts and delivers incoming and interoffice mail to multiple agency locations daily.
- Ensures that mail and other deliveries are distributed accurately and in a timely manner to the appropriate departments or staff.
- Maintains confidentiality and exercises appropriate care when handling sensitive or confidential correspondence.
- Provides coverage for Respite or Day Habilitation transportation needs based on staffing, program schedules, or operational needs.
- Provides safe, reliable, and timely transportation while following all agency, vehicle safety, and applicable transportation requirements.
- Assists individuals with entering and exiting vehicles and ensures appropriate use of seat belts, mobility equipment, and other safety supports as needed.
- Maintains appropriate supervision and professional interaction with individuals during transportation and reports on any safety, behavioral, or transportation concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
