Position: Distribution Attendant (Monday - Friday. 12am - 8am with alternating weekends)

Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Distribution Attendant. In this role, the successful candidate will perform a full range of order fulfillment and warehouse functions including loading, unloading, shipping, receiving, weighing, tagging, sorting, counting, stocking, packing, and unpacking of supplies, mail, and equipment. The candidate will also operate postage equipment, verify shipments against documentation, assemble orders for par program and nursing units, and distribute supplies throughout the medical center.

Job Responsibilities
  • Receives, loads and unloads pallets of supplies and places them into pallet racks and shelving units by hand or power and manual equipment, rotating supplies according to expiration date.
  • Maintains inventory levels by checking shelves, restocking supply carts, and keeping supply records. Picks and assembles supplies and equipment into boxes/totes for movement to nursing units and par program.
  • Replenishes par‑stock carts on patient care areas, including med/surg, IV, and instrument supplies.
  • Ensures par‑stock carts are accurately filled to the appropriate stock level and maintain a neat, orderly appearance.
  • Makes deliveries of requested supplies for patient care areas throughout the medical center and obtains authorizing signatures when issuing supplies.
  • Ensures that supplies and equipment delivered to end users or for the par program are accounted for with complete, appropriate documentation (requisition, pick ticket, purchase order, etc.).
  • Conducts proofreading and checks documents for accuracy, and inputs/ retrieves data from an automated inventory control system or handheld devices. Performs cycle counts and physical inventory responsibilities and notifies the supervisor of discrepancies.
  • Operates pallet jacks, forklift trucks, and other material handling equipment to pick supplies and equipment safely and efficiently. Adheres to workload schedules and maintains a clean work area.
  • Maintains and cares for all hospital materials handling supplies and equipment, sorts and distributes mail on a timely basis, and maintains all postage meters. Answers mail services telephone calls and assists with mailing information.
  • Performs special pickups and deliveries of time‑related materials, large or heavy mail items, parcels, or mail bags and runs errands for simple messenger duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Receives, unloads and loads hospital supplies and equipment and verifies accuracy and count of items received. Labels, sorts, wraps, tags, stocks, packs, and unpacks supplies and equipment and repacks for shipment as needed.
  • Breaks down and separates incoming shipments of supplies and equipment and sorts them onto platform trucks, u‑boats, and pallets for distribution to final destination, obtaining authorizing signatures when delivering supplies.
  • Reports all discrepancies such as over‑shipment, shortages, damages, incorrect catalog numbers, POs, or unusual situations to supervisory staff and maintains accurate records of all transactions.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School or General Equivalent Diploma.
  • Effective communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Experience working with computerized inventory management and warehousing systems such as barcode and handheld scanning devices.
  • Effectively plans, organizes, prioritizes, and executes work/projects with attention to detail.
  • Accuracy in record‑keeping.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Participates in identifying problems and suggesting solutions.
  • Maintains professional interactions with customers and materials management staff.
  • Demonstrates an ability to function successfully in a team environment.
  • Exhibits courteous, compassionate, and respectful treatment of internal and external customers.
  • Efficient and safe operation of postal equipment and material handling equipment (forklift, power and manual jacks, etc.).
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of fifty pounds (50 lbs.).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of warehouse and/or store experience preferred.

Salary range: $50,689.86 - $50,689.86 annually. Actual salaries depend on experience, education, and hospital need.
