Position Summary

Distribution Attendant at NYU Langone Health. This role involves performing a full range of order fulfillment and receiving/warehouse functions including loading and unloading, shipping, receiving, weighing, tagging, sorting, counting, stocking, storing, packing and unpacking of supplies, mail, and equipment; operating postage equipment; downloading pick tickets; assembling orders; distributing supplies and equipment; processing mail; and related record‑keeping.

Job Responsibilities
  • Receives, loads and unloads pallets of supplies and places them into pallet racks and shelving units by hand or power and manual equipment, ensuring rotation of supplies per expiration date.
  • Maintains inventory levels by checking shelves, restocking supply carts, and maintaining supply records. Picks and assembles supplies for nursing units and par program.
  • Replenishes par‑stock carts on patient care areas, ensuring accurate stock levels and neat appearance of supply carts.
  • Delivers requested supplies to patient care areas throughout the Medical Center, obtaining authorizing signatures when issuing supplies.
  • Ensures all delivered supplies and equipment are accounted for by appropriate documentation (requisition, pick ticket, purchase order).
  • Proofreads and checks documents for accuracy, inputs/ retrieves data from automated inventory control computer systems or handheld devices, performs cycle counts and physical inventory; notifies supervisor of discrepancies.
  • Operates pallet jacks, forklift trucks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to workload schedules and maintaining a clean work area.
  • Manages all hospital materials handling supplies and equipment, sorts and distributes mail on a timely basis, maintains postage meters, and provides mailing assistance via telephone.
  • Handles special pickups and deliveries of time‑related, large, bulky, or heavy mail items; runs errands and performs routine messenger duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Receives, unloads and loads hospital supplies, verifies accuracy, labels, sorts, wraps, tags, stocks, packs, unpacks, and repacks for shipment.
  • Breaks down and separates incoming shipments, sorting onto platform trucks, U‑boats, and pallets per building for final distribution and obtains signatures when delivering supplies.
  • Reports discrepancies (over‑shipment, shortages, damages, incorrect catalog numbers, POs) to supervisory staff; maintains accurate transaction records.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School or General Equivalent Diploma.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with computerized inventory management and warehousing systems, such as barcode and handheld scanning devices.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with attention to detail.
  • Accurate record‑keeping.
  • Ability to identify problems and suggest solutions.
  • Professional interaction with customers and materials management staff.
  • Team‑oriented and courteous, compassionate, and respectful toward internal and external customers.
  • Safe operation of postal equipment and material handling equipment (forklift, power and manual jacks).
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds (50 lbs).
Preferred Qualifications

Two years of warehouse and/or store experience.

Salary

Salary range: $50,689.86 – $50,689.86 annually. Actual salaries depend on experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range does not include bonuses, incentive, differential pay, or other compensation or benefits.
