Nter Talent is proud to be supporting a leading organisation within the food distribution and fulfilment sector in the search for a Senior Receiving Manager
- Inbound.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced inbound operations leader to oversee receiving functions within a high-volume fulfilment environment. You'll play a key role in driving operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, vendor compliance, and team performance while partnering with multiple departments to deliver best-in-class operational standards.

The Role

As Senior Receiving Manager
- Inbound you will lead all inbound warehouse activities, ensuring products are received accurately, safely, and efficiently. You'll oversee receiving supervisors and associates, optimise operational performance through KPI management, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the operation.

Key Responsibilities Inbound Operations
  • Lead all inbound receiving activities, including unloading, inspection, sorting, and put-away.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of purchase orders and Advanced Shipping Notices (ASNs).
  • Manage daily receiving volumes, dock scheduling, and carrier performance to maximise operational efficiency.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures across receiving operations.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between purchase orders, physical inventory, and warehouse management systems.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of supervisors, team leaders, and warehouse associates.
  • Conduct performance reviews, establish development plans, and manage performance where required.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, safety, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with HR and Learning & Development to recruit, onboard, and develop new employees.
  • Align labour planning with inbound volume forecasts to ensure operational readiness.
Inventory & Quality
  • Drive inventory accuracy by monitoring receiving metrics and implementing corrective actions where required.
  • Partner with Inventory Control to resolve discrepancies, stock variances, and system issues.
  • Oversee quality assurance processes relating to damaged product, returns, vendor compliance, and waste.
  • Ensure all incoming products are correctly labelled, staged, and stored.
  • Collaborate with replenishment teams to improve product availability and reduce shortages.
  • Monitor and report on key operational KPIs, including receiving productivity, dock-to-stock time, and inventory accuracy.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies and operational issues.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce operational costs.
  • Present operational performance updates to senior leadership.
  • Partner with Warehouse Management System (WMS) and IT teams to improve system performance and operational effectiveness.
What We're Looking For
  • Minimum of five years' experience within warehouse, distribution, fulfilment, or logistics operations.
  • At least three years' leadership experience managing inbound or receiving operations.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, logistics, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Proven experience leading large operational teams within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with in grocery, food manufacturing, fresh produce, or other perishable product environments.
  • Knowledge of vendor compliance programmes and ASN/EDI processes.
  • Understanding of OSHA regulations and food safety standards.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement certification is advantageous.
