Location:Taconic Biosciences is seeking a full‑time Support Services Technician to join our dedicated Central Processing Area team at the Germantown, NY site.
The Pay Range: $20 per hour. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors. These factors include geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions and could exceed the advertised salary range, however, please note that the upper end of the range is not guaranteed to be offered.

As a Support Services Technician in our Central Processing Area (CPA), you will play a vital role in supporting our animal production needs through a variety of cleaning, sterilizing, transporting, and processing procedures. You will work closely with the team to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and accurately, with opportunities to cross‑train in different areas for a well‑rounded experience.
Core Responsibilities:- Operating autoclaves to sterilize assorted barrier supplies.
- Operating forklift to move products and equipment to and from various locations.
- Strategically process loads per delivery schedule to meet deadlines.
- Load and unload autoclaves using pallet jack.
- Move containers using pallet jack or forklift.
- Assist in barrier start up.
- Process assorted barrier laundry.
- Load assorted barrier supplies into autoclavable containers.
- Load feed containers.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Minimum of 6 months of relevant work experience or equivalent training.
- Forklift and electric pallet jack experience a plus, but we will certify you!
- Effective communication skills and a willingness to learn.
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation purposes (training provided).
- Strong problem‑solving abilities to tackle challenges as they arise.
This role requires considerable physical exertion, including frequent climbing, crouching, crawling, and lifting items up to 75 pounds. The work environment involves regular use of chemicals, protective equipment, and heavy machinery, with exposure to occupational hazards that require special precautions and occasional situations with the potential for serious injury. Regular exposure to extreme temperatures, outdoor weather conditions, strong odors, and elevated noise levels is also expected, and access to certain work areas may be restricted.
