Job Description & How to Apply Below

The installs happen in Manhattan. The equipment sits in Jericho. If a radio ships untested, or a kit goes out one part short, nobody finds out until a technician is standing on a roof with half a job and no way to finish it. Catching that is the job, and the work is plain and physical: receive, count, test, stage, ship, and chase returns until they close.

It is repetitive on purpose and mostly solitary — a stockroom you run, not a warehouse floor with a crew on it.

What you do
  • Receive shipments and count every delivery against the packing list before anything goes on a shelf.
  • Power up and test Tarana radios, Juniper switches, and routers. Tag whatever fails so it never reaches a roof.
  • Build and label a complete kit for each install — radio, mounting hardware, cable, in-unit equipment — so a technician can load it and go.
  • Keep the record and the shelf in agreement, and flag a part that is running low weeks before it can hold up scheduled work.
  • Pack, ship, and chase returns and RMAs until each one is closed out with the vendor.
  • Hand equipment to technicians on pickup and take back what comes in from the field.
  • Keep shelves, bins, and aisles ordered well enough that someone else could find a part without you.
What you bring
  • Count accurately, and notice when a packing list and a pallet disagree.
  • Lift boxes up to 50 pounds and stay on your feet through a shift.
  • Use a computer for inventory records, email, and shipping labels.
  • Follow the same test on the hundredth radio as on the first, on a day when nothing is checking the work but you.
  • Work alone for long stretches and put the day in order once the priorities are set.
  • Learn hardware you have not handled before. No networking background needed.
What success looks like
  • Technicians leave Jericho with complete, tested kits. No install stops for a part that was supposed to be in the box.
  • The count on the shelf matches the count in the record, and a shortage is visible long before it is urgent.
  • No failed unit reaches a roof, and every RMA has a status, not a corner of the shelf.
  • You can say what is ready, what failed, what shipped, and what is still open without walking out to check.
Schedule:

Part-time or full-time, Monday through Friday, daytime hours with some early starts. Occasional Saturday during busy install weeks. No regular evenings.
