Senior Accountant / Senior AP Specialist (AP Processor)

Pay Rate Range: $43–$48/hr
Position OverviewThis role offers an exciting opportunity to support cutting‑edge research and innovative operations in the Life Sciences and Clinical Diagnostics sector. As a Senior Accountant / Senior AP Specialist, you will play a key role in AP and GL accounting, financial audits, SOX compliance, and month‑end close processes.
Key Responsibilities- Process AP invoices, checks, wires/ACH, focusing on accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness
- Collaborate with department heads, purchasing, and receiving teams for approvals
- Manage vendor relationships: monitor payments and resolve open issues
- Prepare/review AP accruals, prepaid amortization, fixed assets depreciation, deferred rent, and reconciliations
- Assist in month-end close, account reconciliation, journal entries, SOX compliance, and financial audits
- Ensure timely 1099 filings
- Guide Accountant/Staff Accountant on AP processing and accounting questions
- Identify and implement process improvements; participate in ERP system upgrades
- Support team with other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or finance
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred
- 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally in manufacturing
- Proficiency with Excel (vlookup, IF functions, pivot tables, etc.)
- Hands‑on GL experience
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
- Experience with expandable ERP systems a plus
