Basic
Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to create a safe, enjoyable, and enriching experience for children participating in our summer day camp program of the Tri-Cities Corps. The staff members play a crucial role in facilitating a variety of activities, ensuring the well-being of campers, fostering a positive and inclusive environment. By engaging with campers, promoting teamwork, and adhering to safety guidelines, providing spiritual development, social direction, and educational reinforcement while at the same time utilizing recreational activities.
- Demonstrate a passion for working with children in a learning environment.
- Teaching music instrument and music theory.
- Assist with supervision, guidance, and caring for children in an educational, enrichment, and recreational setting.
- Provide encouraging instruction to students during group activities.
- Assist with the supervision of safety of campers during arrival, dismissal, and transition periods.
- Assist the Director of Group Leader in the planning, teaching of lessons, homework support, and activities.
- Assist in maintaining discipline and encouraging children to follow rules.
- Assist in general set up and clean up of program area and with the closing/opening of the facility.
- Maintaining a safe environment.
- Knowledge of music instruments, able to teach music instruments and music theory.
- Must have the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and basic desktop publishing computer programs.
- Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check to include a DOJ Livescan Fingerprint check.
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis.
- Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects.
- Ability to reach overhead.
- Ability to operate telephone.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. for administrative positions.
- Ability to operate a computer.
- Ability to process written, visual, and/or verbal information.
- Ability to operate basic office equipment and tools PC, Fax Machine, Telephone, Calculator, Copier, Printer.
