Job Title
Responsibilities:
Develop and iterate vehicle hardware and software calibrations using subjective and data-driven processes. Install robust data acquisition systems on prototype vehicles; create, perform, analyze, and document test results. Objective and subjective analysis of attributes, on Lucid and benchmark vehicles. Troubleshoot and document mechanical, electrical, and software problems in a fast-paced environment. Work closely with cross-functional teams from across the business to make efficient, timely, data-driven decisions.
Assist preparation, component upgrades, and maintenance of vehicle dynamics prototype fleet. Work with multiple complex projects in a demanding environment. Travel domestically and internationally as required. A strong desire to create state-of-the-art engineering products as an integral part of a very capable team.
5 or more years of automotive experience with a solid understanding of vehicle dynamics principles. Demonstrated ability to deliver vehicles with world-class dynamics attributes. Experience in both objective and subjective assessment, data acquisition and analysis. Experience in tuning several of the following: coil springs, air springs, dampers, anti-roll bars, bushings, tires, suspension control software, electric power steering, stability control, torque vectoring systems, and other dynamics-related control systems.
Knowledge of the basic principles of ADAMS, Car Real Time , Car Maker, Car Sim or similar. Understanding of Matlab/Simulink fundamentals. Familiarity with Python, C++.
Desire for continual learning. Excellent problem-solving ability, using fundamental principles and data-driven decision making. Formula/Baja SAE or motor sport background. Advanced driving qualifications.
EducationBS/BEng or MS/MEng, or equivalent experience, in Mechanical Engineering.
