We are seeking a detail-oriented
Associate
Interior Components and Systemsengineerwithfoundationalexperienceor strong interest in automotive interiors, including areas such as hardtrim,softtrim,instrument panels, doortrims,consoles, headliners, and related assemblies.
You willsupportthe packaging, engineering, release, and launch of Interior Components and Systems in the Lucid portfolio while working closelywithsenior engineers, cross-functional partners, and interior trim suppliers tohelp deliver technically robust solutionsontime.
- Support assigned products throughout the development lifecycle, from concept creation and packaging through engineering release, prototype builds, validation, manufacturing launch, and production support, with guidance from senior engineers and program leaders.
- Create industry-leading interior solutions that deliver exceptional luxury, craftsmanship, comfort, ergonomics, performance, safety, quality, and functionality while meeting cost, mass, timing, and manufacturing objectives.
- Support the developmentandmaintenance of engineering deliverables including technical requirements, CAD models and drawings, Design Verification Plans (DVP&R), DFMEAs, validation plans, engineering releases, and issue-management documentation.
- Collaborate closely with Design, Vehicle Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Program Management, Marketing, and other cross-functional stakeholders to drive alignment and achieve program milestones.
- Support technical engagement with suppliers, including design reviews, feasibility assessments, quote reviews, cost optimization activities, development tracking, and delivery of engineering milestones.
- Utilize CAD and engineering analysis tools to develop robust, manufacturable designs that meet engineering specifications, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
- Participate in prototype, validation, and production buildsby helping identify, document, and resolve design, quality, manufacturing, and supplier-related issues with support from senior engineers and cross-functional partners.
- Drive continuous improvement by developing innovative tools, processes, and methodologies that improve product quality, engineering efficiency, and development effectiveness.
- Contribute to engineering best practices by sharing lessons learned, documenting solutions, and actively learning from senior engineers and cross-functional partners.
- Demonstrate ownership and accountability for assignedtasksandcomponents by identifying risks early,escalating issues appropriately, supporting resolution, and delivering high-quality workwith urgency.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 0–2+ years of experienceor relevant internship, co-op, academic project, or early-career engineering experience related tothe design, development, validation, release,orlaunch of automotive Interior Components and Systems, including one or more of the following: soft trim, hard trim, instrument panels, door trims, center consoles, headliners, pillars, package trays, decorative trim, or related assemblies.
