Join Our Team as an Electro-Mechanical Assembler at Teledyne ETM

What's The Role?

Teledyne ETM in Newark, CA is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Assembler to build high-energy x-ray products used in cargo and vehicle inspections for the global security market. This position will perform hands-on assembly of electronic systems and sub-systems by following detailed work instructions and drawings. The Electro-Mechanical Assembler works alongside a supportive team of assemblers, technicians, and engineers to ensure each product is assembled safely, accurately and on schedule.

They are comfortable managing multiple priorities, adapting to changing schedules and requirements, and working collaboratively across cross-functional teams. A great fit is someone who can work independently with minimal supervision, use sound judgment when instructions or requirements are not fully defined, and take initiative to gather information, resolve issues, and deliver high-quality results.

Prior experience in the automotive or equipment repair/maintenance industries is helpful.

What You'll Do
  • Assemble electronic components, wire harnesses, sub-assemblies, and large systems.
  • Route and secure wires and wire bundles of various sizes.
  • Assemble and install plumbing components and hoses.
  • Follow engineering procedures, manufacturing instructions, and quality requirements.
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Work closely with teammates to meet production goals.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and quality.
  • Safely lift, transport, and position units throughout the manufacturing process using lift tables, carts, and other material handling equipment.
  • Support 5S, Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement initiatives, and other duties as assigned by management.
What You'll Need
  • Ability to follow manufacturing instructions and learn new processes
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and basic test equipment such as multimeters, calipers, and pressure gauges.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in positions such as bending, kneeling, or overhead.
  • Basic computer skills (email, internet searches, ability to learn new systems).
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Clear spoken and written communication skills in English.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain quality and schedule commitments in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly including basic plumbing, electrical and/or soldering experience is preferred.
  • Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce
