Quality Engineer

Job Summary

Our client in Newark, CA specializes in custom industrial packaging solutions and they are seeking a Quality Engineer to add to the team. This role ensures product quality and compliance with ISO 9001/14001 by managing quality systems, resolving issues, and driving performance improvements.

Requires a University Degree, preferably a B.S. or equivalent experience, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in quality assurance.

• Provide essential quality and environmental systems (Q&EMS, SFI, NICS, DOT) training.
• Manage and resolve customer complaints, including coordinating containment and corrective/preventive actions (e.g., 8D, NCRs).
• Develop and implement FMEA and Control Plans for operational processes.
• Consolidate and report on quality and environmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
• Establish quality control measures for new products to meet established standards.
• Oversee the control, calibration, and verification of all measuring devices.
• Conduct weekly analysis of product discrepancies (scrap, rework) to drive performance improvement.
• Ensure full adherence to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 Policies and Procedures.
