Position: QC Inspector 2 - AOI - Swing Shift

Job Summary

The QC Inspector – AOI operates the AOI machine, performs quality inspections using AOI, and provides AOI support. Reports to Quality Engineering Manager and is located in Newark, CA.

Primary

Job Responsibilities
  • Operate the AOI
    • Responsible on the entire AOI operation/line support activities
    • Review AOI inspection for accurate, consistent detection of component placement and solder joint defects
    • Work closely with the processing and engineering teams to improve visual defect yields
  • Perform AOI related quality inspection tasks
    • Inspect components or feature chips, ICs, joints, text, connectors, etc., using the AOI.
    • InspectPCBA’sand to IPC‑A‑610 standards, using magnification aids.
    • Read and interpret assembly drawings, bills of material (BOMs), MPI, ECN, Deviation and other manufacturing documentation related to inspection.
    • Load AOI programs per instructions
    • Perform AOI inspection for accurate, consistent detection of SMT paste, component placement, and solder joint defect
  • Support engineers and production operators with equipment training, data collection and system evaluations
    • Assist engineers in data collection and engineering evaluations
    • Document defects
    • Inspect per IPC‑A‑610 standards using a microscope
    • Support improvement initiatives and participates actively to improve work environment (5S)

Other duties and responsibilities related to AOI Support and Production as assigned.

Required Education Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience operating AOI equipment
  • High School Diploma
  • IPC‑A‑610 Certified
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485 & ESD
