Maintenance Technician

Location: Newark, CA

Pay Rate: $35.00 - $39.00 per hour

Schedule: 1:30 PM - 10:00 PM, including some weekends

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or food manufacturing environment
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read schematics, blueprints, manuals, and work orders
  • Basic welding, fabrication, and machining experience
  • Strong understanding of industrial safety practices
  • Ability to work independently in a production environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills-
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. with assistance
  • Ability to bend, climb ladders, stoop, reach, and work around moving equipment
Job Duties
  • Perform preventive, scheduled, and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, and control systems
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime
  • Inspect and prepare production lines before startup
  • Maintain steam, compressed air, refrigeration, HVAC, electrical, and water systems
  • Complete maintenance logs, work orders, and documentation accurately and on time
  • Perform basic welding, fabrication, and machining as needed
  • Install and modify equipment using manuals, schematics, and layout drawings
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas while following GMP and food safety standards
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime
  • Assist with general building and facility maintenance
  • Follow all company safety, food safety, and quality standards
