AR and Collections Specialist

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year.

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive Accounts Receivable / Collections Specialist to oversee our outstanding receivables and ensure timely client payments. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of active accounts, resolve billing discrepancies, and maintain excellent professional relationships with our B2B clients. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical financial skills and diplomatic communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze AR aging reports daily to identify delinquent accounts.
  • Conduct proactive outreach via phone and email to secure outstanding balances while maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, payment shortfalls, and client disputes by collaborating with sales and account management teams.
  • Post and reconcile daily cash receipts, electronic transfers, and credit card payments to the general ledger.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports detailing collection progress, aging metrics, and bad debt risks for management review.
  • Recommend improvements to streamline the invoicing and billing cycle.
Qualifications & Skills
  • 5+ years of dedicated experience in business‑to‑business (B2B) accounts receivable, credit, or collections.
  • High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration preferred.
  • Hands‑on experience with mid‑to‑large‑tier ERP systems (e.g., Quick Books, Net Suite, SAP) and high proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a proven track record of diplomatic negotiation.
  • Strong time‑management skills with the ability to prioritize a high volume of accounts autonomously.
