Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Corporate Accountant in Newark, DE for our client, supporting corporate accounting, financial reporting, month-end close, and financial analysis within a large organization. This role will prepare financial information, analyze account activity, maintain internal controls, and collaborate with finance and business teams on accounting and reporting initiatives. The ideal candidate has public accounting or a combination of public and corporate accounting experience with strong technical accounting, analytical, and communication skills.
Responsibilitiesas the Senior Corporate Accountant
- Month-End Close:
Prepare and review journal entries, account activity, and supporting schedules to ensure accurate and timely monthly and quarterly close processes. - Financial Reporting:
Prepare financial reports, account reconciliations, and supporting analysis for internal and external reporting requirements. - Financial Analysis:
Analyze financial results, investigate variances and trends, and communicate findings to accounting and finance stakeholders. - Internal Controls:
Execute and maintain accounting controls while supporting compliance, documentation, and financial reporting requirements. - Audit Support:
Prepare documentation and financial data for internal and external audits and assist with related information requests. - Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to strengthen accounting processes through automation, technology, and workflow improvements.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required. - Certification: CPA designation or active progress toward CPA licensure is preferred.
- Experience:
Minimum of 2+ years of public accounting, audit, or combined public and corporate accounting experience is required. - Industry Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close, account reconciliations, and internal controls is required. - Technical
Skills:
Strong Microsoft Excel and financial systems skills are required, with experience using automation, analytical, or emerging technology tools preferred. - Skills & Attributes:
Strong analytical, communication, project management, collaboration, problem-solving, initiative, and professional judgment skills are required.
