Overview
Our client is a leading utility organization within the energy industry, with a strong presence in the Mid‑Atlantic region. Ongoing initiatives across the utility sector—such as Grid Modernization, Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), and Distribution Automation—drive the need for increased network bandwidth, capacity, and resilience. In response, the organization is expanding its communication backbone to ensure reliable connectivity across networked devices. Historically, focus has been primarily on power delivery, resulting in gaps in documentation and system records.
With several major initiatives underway, the organization seeks a resource to address the backlog of documentation and support ongoing updates, improving documentation accuracy and planning efficiencies.
- Work closely with internal subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather and validate network information
- Perform updates and organization of documentation within internal systems
- Ensure accuracy and consistency across documentation databases
- Experience:
- 3+ years performing design and documentation updates within A&E platforms
- Experience with in the telecommunications or utility industry preferred
- GIS platform experience (e.g., ESRI, Small world, or similar) highly preferred
- Communication:
- Strong ability to collaborate across teams and communicate with internal and external stakeholders to gather necessary information
- Attention to Detail:
- High level of accuracy and organization
- Self‑motivated with ability to manage tasks independently
The ideal candidate will have strong cross‑functional communication skills and hands‑on experience performing documentation updates within the telecommunications or utility industry. Familiarity with GIS and mapping tools is important. Experience with ESRI or similar platforms is preferred; candidates with a GIS background using tools such as Small world are also encouraged. Knowledge of KMZ and DNG file formats is highly valuable.
Work Environment- Hybrid work model (home, office, and occasional fieldwork)
- Currently requires 3 days per week in the office
- Collaborative, hands‑on environment focused on cross‑functional learning
Contract position based out of Newark, DE.
Pay & BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.00 – $43.00 per hour.
