Position: Collection Specialist [81454]

A leading industry company is hiring a Collection Specialist to support their collections team in Newark, DE
. This position is hybrid
, requiring two days per week in the office
, with a short-term assignment lasting less than a month. The role involves managing delinquent accounts, initiating contact through various communication channels, documenting interactions, and utilizing skip tracing techniques. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills, with some experience or education in finance or customer service.

Collection Specialist Responsibilities:
  • Manage a portfolio of overdue accounts and follow up to recover payments.
  • Contact debtors via phone, email, and written correspondence to discuss outstanding balances and payment options.
  • Record all collection activities accurately, including communications and payment arrangements.
  • Use skip tracing tools and techniques to locate difficult-to-reach debtors.
  • Provide prompt and professional customer service to address debtor inquiries and concerns.
Collection Specialist

Qualifications:
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with strong negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to handle difficult conversations professionally and empathetically.
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail and time management.
  • Basic computing skills; proficiency in collections software and CRM systems is a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with some college coursework preferred; 0-1 years of experience in collections or customer service.
