Dispatcher – Paratransit / EMS Transport
We are currently seeking an experienced and dependable Dispatcher to become a valued member of our team.
Position SummaryThe Dispatcher plays a critical role in coordinating transportation services, supporting field crews, and ensuring transport requests are managed efficiently and professionally. This position requires strong communication, organization, multitasking, and problem‑solving skills in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and dispatch transport requests in a timely and efficient manner.
- Monitor transportation schedules and ensure pickups and drop‑offs are completed as scheduled.
- Maintain communication with crews and account for unit status throughout the shift.
- Notify facilities, passengers, or callers regarding delays or schedule changes.
- Update schedules and transport information in real time throughout the shift.
- Communicate accurate and timely information to field staff.
- Resolve operational issues and assist with problem‑solving to maintain service efficiency.
- Provide exceptional customer service and perform customer service–related duties as needed.
- Maintain professionalism and effective communication with crews, facilities, patients, and callers.
- Minimum of 1 year of dispatch experience in EMS or Paratransit required.
- Strong computer skills and the ability to learn dispatching, scheduling, and database systems quickly.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Excel, and Word preferred.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain organized in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and build trust in a team environment.
- Excellent customer service and problem‑solving abilities required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- EMT certification preferred but not required.
- Must maintain a professional attitude, appearance, and commitment to high performance standards.
