The Helen F Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute (HFGCCRI) is seeking a BC/BE Thoracic Surgeon to join our established team in Newark, Delaware.
We are actively seeking a new or recent graduate for this role.

• Duties may include patient care rounds, resident conference sessions, minor or major operative procedures, consultations, and in office procedures.
• Work with the Chief of Surgery and the Medical Director of the Christiana Care Cancer Program to provide high quality clinical service.
• Assist in the administrative duties of the Department of Surgery and the Helen
  
  F. Graham Cancer Center and Research Institute as assigned by the Chair and Medical Director, respectively.
• Participate as faculty in surgical resident educational programs.
• Share on-call service with other thoracic surgeons as part of the multidisciplinary thoracic team.
• Attend the weekly surgical grand rounds and morbidity and mortality conferences.
• Attend the monthly multidisciplinary thoracic tumor conference and weekly thoracic multidisciplinary clinic.
• Assist the Chief of Thoracic Surgery in preparing thoracic conferences, including morbidity and mortality conference.
• Meet the performance expectations of the Multidisciplinary Disease Centers at the Helen
  
  F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute.
• Conduct academic and scholarly activities leading towards publication in peer-reviewed journals.
• Participate in local and national thoracic organizations and societies.

• This National Cancer Institute funded Community Oncology Research Program features advanced medical, surgical and radiation procedures, diagnostic services and over 100 clinical trials.
• The cancer research program includes the Gene Editing Institute, the Cawley Center for Translational Research, a collaborative program with the University of Delaware.
• A partnership of over 10 years with the Wistar Cancer Institute with collaborative programs involving HFGCCRI clinicians and Wistar world class scientists.
• HFGCCRI also includes the Christiana Care Breast Center, an outpatient facility that performs over 34,000 mammograms annually

• Multidisciplinary Disease Site Centers (MDCs) that include a team of specialists whom a patient can see all in one visit, including a surgeon, a medical oncologist or hematologist and a radiation oncologist along with subspecialists who will work together to provide their patients with the optimal treatment plan targeted to their specific disease.
• Our cancer clinical trials program is one of a select group of research centers in the country that participates in the National Cancer Institute's NCI Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP).
• HFGCCRI is home to some of the most advanced cancer‑fighting technology in the world, including a Cyberknife and image‑guided radiation therapy in Radiation Oncology as well as several da Vinci robotic surgery systems.
• Our Breast Center features Delaware's only dedicated breast MRI scanner, and the Center for Breast Reconstruction is the first in Delaware to offer the full breadth of breast reconstruction options, including state‑of‑the‑art microsurgical techniques.
