Salary: $50,000– $55,000 per year. Final compensation is based on factors such as skills, qualifications, and experience.

Licensing & Compliance
  • Ensure annual licensure of all program sites, consistently meeting Delaware State Licensing regulations.
  • Oversee all required physical inspections, life safety standards, child and staff files, ASQs (Ages & Stages Questionnaires), and other compliance documentation.
  • Maintain compliance with state and local codes, laws, and regulations relevant to early childhood education.
Program Management & Curriculum
  • Direct, manage, and coordinate all early childhood education programs for assigned sites.
  • Implement curriculum and assessments; review and approve lesson plans.
  • Conduct classroom observations and provide coaching and mentoring to staff.
  • Ensure ADA requirements, inclusivity, and best practices are consistently maintained in the early education setting.
Staff Leadership & Development
  • Support the Senior Youth Director and collaborate with Youth Development leadership.
  • Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and supervise personnel and volunteers.
  • Provide professional development opportunities, coaching, and performance evaluations.
Operations & Administration
  • Manage curriculum supplies and equipment within budgetary guidelines.
  • Partner with the Registrar and/or Business Manager to coordinate new registrations, Pro Care system updates, transitions, terminations, Purchase of Care (POC)/Early Childhood Assistance Program (ECAP) subsidies, and billing issues.
Quality & Accreditation
  • Maintain progress and compliance with Delaware Stars quality rating system.
  • Ensure ongoing standards for NAEYC Accreditation are achieved and sustained.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to serve a diverse community.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of supervisory experience in an early childhood or youth development setting.
  • Knowledge of Delaware Office of Child Care Licensing (OCCL) regulations, Delaware Stars, and NAEYC Accreditation standards.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Pro Care or similar childcare management systems preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Multi-lingual
  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, Child Development, or related field (master’s preferred).
