Role DescriptionThe University Student Centers is seeking a responsible, motivated undergraduate student to assist with Jump Leadership Weekend. Primary responsibilities include contributing to the program design, designing and facilitating leadership modules, and acting as a point‑of‑contact in the cabins overnight. This position will begin its duties in March 2026, continue to work over the summer (light, remote hours that the student can set), and complete in December 2026.
Jump Leadership Weekend is a leadership retreat designed to enhance the sophomore and transfer student experience. The primary topic is goal management from setting the goal to the action steps needed. Students will spend two days, including one overnight, at an off‑site retreat with the added benefits of high ropes courses, water activities, and a fun change‑of‑pace from campus life. The student assistant will work with full‑time staff to design the weekend, including potentially creating their own leadership module and/or activities that they can facilitate during the weekend.
During the program, they will assist in facilitation of multiple activities and serve as the point‑of‑contact for the students in the cabin overnight (full‑time staff will be on site to help, but housed separately). Students interested in this role should be excited about leadership development and community building. Previous participation in Jump is not required, but familiarity with leadership programming is highly encouraged.
Responsibilities
- Create a leadership module based in goal setting, personal growth, goal attainment, or a related area
- Facilitate activities and discussions throughout the JUMP weekend
- Help organize the JUMP facilitators to aid in activities and discussions
- Provide input into the design of the activities, structure, and goals for the retreat
- Serve as point‑of‑contact in cabins overnight
- Current and continuing student at University of Delaware (Spring 2026 & Fall 2026)
- Experience participating in leadership programs
- Interest in education, training, leadership, and facilitation
