A school district in Newark, Delaware is working with Soliant to contract a full-time school psychologist for the  school year. Ideal candidates must have a Master's Degree or higher in School Psychology (or a related field) with a pending or active Delaware certification in School Psychology. Newark is a lively, suburban city that is an excellent location for commuting and travel with easy access to major metropolitan cities such as Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and New York City.

This role will be supporting deaf and hard of hearing students across academic, behavioral, and social-emotional domains while contributing to a comprehensive school support system grounded in data-driven and student-centered practices. Candidates wanting to submerge themselves with deaf culture, willingness to learn ASL and gain new skills, and make a positive impact for deaf and hard of hearing students should apply for this position.
  • Conduct comprehensive psycho educational assessments (cognitive, academic, behavioral, and social-emotional)
  • Use multiple data sources including testing, observations, interviews, and record reviews
  • Prepare clear, timely, and legally defensible evaluation reports
  • Ensure compliance with IDEA and Delaware Department of Education guidelines
  • Participate in eligibility determinations and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings
  • Present assessment findings to school teams and families
  • Support development of appropriate goals, accommodations, and services
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of school providers, staff, administrators, students, and families
  • Assist with re-evaluations and progress monitoring as needed
  • Provide limited short-term counseling or consultation support when required by placement
  • Assist in crisis response or risk assessment situations as needed
  • Support social-emotional learning (SEL) initiatives at the school level
