About the department / center: The University Writing Center offers individual and small group peer support to University of Delaware students who are working on writing or communication projects. The Writing Center also offers workshops, writing groups, and additional writing- and communication-focused programming to UD students, staff, and faculty.

Role

Description:

The University Writing Center is seeking responsible, motivated undergraduate students to serve as Office Assistants in its Memorial Hall and Morris Library locations.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Greet and check in tutoring clients
  • Assist clients with scheduling, rescheduling, and canceling appointments
  • Respond to inquiries about the Center’s services and programming
  • Support data management in the Center’s online scheduling and record-keeping portal
  • Assist Center administration and tutors to ensure smooth daily operations

Office Assistants may also participate in Writing Center promotional activities such as UD’s Blue and Golden Days and Admitted Student Days.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess the following qualifications:

  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask, troubleshoot, and problem-solve in a customer service setting
