Qualifications:

Must hold or be eligible for State of Delaware certification as Elementary Counselor, School Psychologist or Elementary Teacher. Three years successful classroom experience preferred. Fluency in American Sign Language preferred. Experience supporting students with challenging behaviors preferred. Must be able to stand and work continuously for a minimum of 4 hours per workday. Minimum lifting requirements- 50 pounds (with assistance). Must be able to use arms and hands without restrictions to accommodate the physical, mobility, and ambulatory needs of students.

Salary:
Teacher salary schedule based on experience and degree.

Responsibilities:
Work directly with students, staff and administration in the area of school discipline. Provide resource services to faculty which are designed to enhance classroom management, student achievement and increase student interest in education. Work with other members of the Student Support Team to monitor student progress and coordinate supports for students and their families related to academic, behavior, attendance, or related concerns.

Support a classroom environment that fosters embedded communication and social skills. Coordinate 'Targeted Team' program;
Functional Behavior Analysis. Work to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and families concerning their academic and behavioral progress. Encourage students to behave in accordance with classroom and school rules and district code of conduct. Collect, monitor, graph and analyze student data. Keep accurate records and develop reports as required. Assist in monitoring student attendance. Coordinate the K-12 bullying prevention program with school counselors.

Responsible for school-wide displays promoting Positive Behavior Support and attend available PBS and Responsive Classroom trainings. Other duties as assigned.
