Senior Electrical Compliance Engineer (Contract)
Location:
Newark, DE
We are looking for a Senior Electrical Compliance Engineer to support electrical safety, EMI/EMC compliance, and regulatory testing activities for medical devices. This role will work closely with engineering teams and external test labs to ensure products meet global regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support EMI/EMC testing and compliance activities
- Ensure compliance with IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-1-2, IEC 60601-1-11
, and related standards - Analyze complex electrical issues, perform root cause analysis
, and recommend corrective actions - Develop, review, and manage test protocols, reports, and regulatory documentation
- Coordinate and communicate with external test laboratories
- Support lab testing and troubleshooting activities as required
- Provide compliance guidance across development and sustaining engineering efforts
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 8+ years of experience as an Electrical Engineer in a regulated industry
- Strong expertise in EMI/EMC testing and compliance
- Hands-on experience with IEC 60601 series standards
- Proven ability to manage compliance documentation and regulatory reports
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Medical device industry experience
- Experience with medical imaging, specimen radiology systems, or similar devices
- Background in sustaining engineering, end-of-life component assessment, or field issue resolution
- Ability to work independently while supporting lab activities as needed
