Package Engineer – Chemicals, Biofuels & Discrete Manufacturing

FunctionalJob Responsibilities
- Early project planning and coordination to develop project engineering execution plans for large complex process and manufacturing packages.
- Develop and manage the preparation, review, and checking of mechanical specification packages in accordance with client requirements and industry best practices.
- Manage and successfully influence the entire procurement life cycle while working closely with all disciplines.
- Effectively manage the interdisciplinary design coordination effort to ensure a seamless design unfolds during construction and commissioning.
- Manage development of complex multi‑discipline construction packages including diagrams, drawings, equipment schedules, details, and scopes of work.
- Maintain positive relationships with clients, vendors, and contractors in a professional manner.
- Track project scope and schedule and notify the project manager of deviations from the original design, budget, or schedule.
- Preferred Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or another related field.
- 10+ years of experience in the EPC industry or in chemical / biofuels operating companies, including project engineering or operations/maintenance and reliability experience.
- Professional Engineering License (P.E.) preferred.
- Proven experience with core areas such as chemical technology and/or biofuels, large complex packaged equipment systems (thermal oxidizers, cooling towers, process units, plastics handling packages, extruders, material handling packages for biomass, waste materials, dust collection systems, etc.).
- Working knowledge of other engineering disciplines, providing proactive leadership on interdisciplinary design coordination efforts.
- Ability to travel to client sites as needed.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with supervisory experience.
