Required Skills & Experience- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 5–10+ years industrial experience in power systems, controls, or reliability engineering.
- Proficient with Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, and GE 90‑30 PLCs.
- Experience with PSM/LOPA/HAZOP processes and arc flash analysis.
- Familiarity with substations, high‑pressure systems, and industrial presses.
- Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70/70E, OSHA 1910, and ISA/IEC standards.
- Experience with SKM power analysis software.
- Experience with VFDs, protective relays, and industrial networking.
The Site Reliability is responsible for the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of plant electrical systems and press control systems, with specific ownership of the Dorst, Digital Press, and Osterwalder presses and their associated automation, motion, and safety controls.
This role supports Process Safety Management (PSM) activities including LOPA participation, PFD development, and Management of Change (MOC) for electrical and control system modifications. The engineer leads electrical and control system reliability efforts, including substation support, arc flash analysis, and process control system reliability, while also supporting high‑pressure systems and electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic press equipment.
The position partners closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, EHS, and OEMs to ensure press systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. This role also contributes to capital projects, innovation initiatives, and continuous improvement, providing technical leadership for electrical and automation standards, troubleshooting, and system upgrades.
Key Responsibilities1) Process Control Reliability & Automation
Support PSM & Risk Management efforts, such as PHAs, LOPA and PFD studies, and safeguard validation in compliance with OSHA .
- Drive closure of electrical‑related corrective actions and maintain as‑built drawings.
- Support functional safety activities, including SIL verification and SIF design reviews.
- Support site power distribution including substations, transformers, switch gear, MCCs, and UPS.
- Manage preventive/predictive maintenance: IR thermography, DGA, and breaker testing.
- Maintain arc flash studies and labels; ensure NFPA 70E compliance and lead root cause analysis for nuisance trips, power disturbances, or equipment failures.
- Responsible for supporting, maintaining, and improving the automation and control systems for Dorst, Digital Press, and Osterwalder press equipment.
- Program and troubleshoot Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, and GE 90‑30 PLC platforms.
- Maintain firmware, backups, and revision control for control systems.
- Support interlocks, alarms, and instrument loop verification.
- Provide electrical and controls engineering scope for innovation or expansion projects.
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, IEC, and corporate standards.
- Maintain arc flash documentation and electrical safety compliance.
- Ensure accurate and current electrical drawings, logic narratives, and panel schedules.
- Deliver training for technicians on PLC troubleshooting and electrical safety.
- Partner with Operations, Maintenance, and EHS to ensure site-wide reliability.
- Provide on-call support during outages or critical events.
- Coordinate contractors performing electrical testing or maintenance.
