CMPT Field Service Engineer (FSE)

This position includes responsibility for technical support of products offered by Qnity to the semiconductor industry in North America. Products include all CMP consumables that Qnity offers, the #1 market share leader of CMP consumables. The FSE will begin with 6–12 months of training at the Delaware CMPT Manufacturing Plant and then relocate to a virtual office in the United States close to the assigned key accounts.

Key Role Activities Include New Business Promotion & New Product Placement
  • Understand technical requirements and opportunities within the accounts, anticipating changes.
  • Work with Account Management to determine where the opportunity fits within our scope, given available resources.
  • Along with Account Management, develop the people strategy within the customer and identify advocates.
  • Coordinate internal and external demos and evaluations; collaborate with Applications Engineering as needed.
  • Coordinate with Applications Engineering for product rollouts and customer training on new products.
  • Generate and present technical updates at the customer and internally.
Sustaining Engagements & Process Tune‑Up
  • Develop expertise on customer processes and use of products (CMP and competitors).
  • Along with Account Management, develop Customer Improvement Plans (CIP) and work with customers to achieve the agreed technical portions.
  • Help customers with process improvement and optimization, using advanced Qnity offerings to meet CIP goals and protect market share.
  • Perform sample analysis on customer‑used products to solve specific problem statements.
Issue Resolution & CMP Performance Troubleshooting
  • Define issues and key success criteria; use customer process knowledge to determine root cause.
  • Manage customer expectations regarding CMPT resources and support ability.
  • Communicate and collaborate with the customer throughout the resolution process.
  • Coordinate product or process studies to troubleshoot issues, including polishing, analysis, and special testing.
Additional Activities
  • Perform the job safely and promote a safe attitude throughout the company.
  • Participate in technical training and development of other team members when applicable.

Minimum Requirements For Role (Job)
  • Technical Bachelor of Science
  • Minimum 3 years of process development/customer engagement experience
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills; ability to give detailed technical presentations to all audiences
  • Understanding of semiconductor processes; CMP process knowledge
  • DOE, data analysis, and technical reporting
  • Knowledge of all pertinent lab metrology and procedures
  • Able to work both in a team environment and independently
  • Preferred: understanding of statistics
  • Willing to travel; expected 50–75 % travel within the region and possibly other areas of North America
