Job Overview

Principal Automation Deployment Engineer – Newark, DE (full‑time, onsite). Reports to Senior Manager, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering. The role focuses on designing, deploying, and validating automated manufacturing and assembly equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Design and deploy automated manufacturing and assembly equipment.
  • Develop specifications, review designs, and manage suppliers for custom automation projects.
  • Program and integrate PLCs, robotics, motion systems, and machine vision solutions.
  • Ensure seamless equipment integration with MES and data systems.
  • Lead FAT/SAT, equipment validation, and production handover.
  • Drive process optimization and standardization across manufacturing lines.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • 7+ years’ experience in equipment design and manufacturing automation.
  • Proficiency in 3D design (Solid Works or equivalent) and PLC/HMI programming (Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, etc.).
  • Proven experience completing automation projects from ideation to machine design, execution, commissioning, and production release.
  • Extensive experience with robotics, motion control, pneumatics, and machine vision systems.
  • Strong project management and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication with cross‑functional teams.
  • Proven ability to lead technical projects and manage vendor interactions.
