Position Overview
A Project Manager for the Customer Installations Group will report to the Director of Global Program Management and be based in Newark, DE. The role is fully on-site, in-office, five days a week.
Responsibilities- Following customer contract execution, define the baseline schedule and execution strategy to deliver the SOW to the client.
- Manage cost, schedule, and risks using project management fundamentals.
- Negotiate and fulfill design and construction contracts.
- Complete construction and project documentation to meet all technical and governmental standards.
- Conduct regulatory outreach and secure necessary permits.
- Handle gas and electrical utility interconnection processes.
- Develop construction bid documents.
- Commission projects.
- Regularly interface with internal Bloom Energy cross‑functional resources and subject‑matter experts.
- Participate in Bloom Energy’s product‑offering innovation process.
- Ensure exemplary safety and performance through specific metrics during site construction and commissioning.
- Ensure that Bloom Energy customers are 100% satisfied with the product and their site energy server installation experience.
- Deliver presentations confidently to all project stakeholders, and sell new ideas to Bloom Energy senior leadership and its customer base.
- Travel to customer sites 30–50% of the time, as required.
- 8+ years of project management experience, including 2+ years of distributed energy solution experience.
- Experience managing multiple, schedule‑constrained, large‑capital projects with multiple contractors.
- Renewable energy experience at scales less than 50 MW is strongly preferred.
- Management of budgets, earned‑value forecasting, schedules, design contracts, and construction contracts.
- Experience producing results with gas and electrical utilities and leading local, state, and federal permitting efforts.
- Excellent organization and confident communication of project status and risk mitigation strategies to Bloom Energy senior executive leadership, often with little notice.
- Demonstrated experience managing cross‑functional teams of subject‑matter experts.
- B.S. in Engineering (Chemical, Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical) required; other technical degrees (Construction Management, Architecture, etc.) considered.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required.
- Proficiency in scheduling software (Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6).
