Role Overview
Bloom Energy is a clean‑energy technology company dedicated to providing reliable, affordable power solutions. We are looking for a Staff Equipment Engineer to support and enhance our manufacturing operations in Newark, DE.
Responsibilities- Support equipment across various manufacturing lines, diagnosing and fixing issues in both mechanical and electronic components.
- Provide support for automated equipment, including PLC and HMI programming for motion and servo control systems, and modify existing control logic to improve safety, performance, or throughput.
- Participate in commissioning of new automated equipment and ensure all devices function as designed.
- Install, commission, and support vision systems for tracking and quality inspections.
- Conduct engineering tasks in mechanical, electrical, and structural systems for testing, material handling, welding, and machining equipment.
- Oversee equipment installation, start‑up, and implementation projects.
- Develop equipment specifications and documents for manufacturing assembly, testing, and material handling processes.
- Manage project timelines, financial planning, and prepare comprehensive status reports for leadership.
- Collaborate with vendors, facility engineers, manufacturing engineers, and production teams to manage project implementation and drive improvements in safety, cost, efficiency, and quality.
- Prepare or approve system as‑built drawings.
- Work flexible hours, including off‑shifts and weekends, as required.
- B.S. degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience as a manufacturing or equipment engineer.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting automated equipment and systems.
- Functional knowledge of PLCs, low‑voltage controls, three‑phase power distribution, industrial control panels, electronic sensors, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
- Experience in equipment requirement development and specification writing.
- Knowledge of ergonomic and machine safety standards.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Solid Works, and MS Office suite.
- Strong communication skills, both written and public speaking.
- Ability to stand or walk for up to 4 hours per shift.
- Traverse stairs and navigate throughout the facility.
- Occasional lift or carry up to 15 pounds.
- Visual acuity sufficient for product inspection, computer editing, and review of digital/printed materials.
- Hearing ability to detect alarms and communicate effectively with staff.
- Ability to perform essential tasks with or without reasonable accommodation.

Salary Range: $95,100.00 - $ (plus standard company benefits).
