Compensation: Up to $150,000 base + bonus
A growing organization is seeking an experienced Cost Controller to lead plant-level cost accounting, financial reporting, and operational finance support. This role partners closely with site leadership and corporate finance to improve cost visibility, strengthen controls, and support data‑driven decision‑making.
This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role ideal for someone with strong manufacturing or operations finance experience who enjoys being close to the business.
What You’ll Do- Own plant‑level cost accounting, including standard costing, allocations, and month‑end close
- Analyze labor, material, overhead, and equipment costs; identify trends and variances
- Review and validate plant‑related COGS and operational financial results
- Partner with operations and procurement to monitor efficiency, usage, and cost drivers
- Prepare monthly and quarterly plant financial reporting, KPIs, and variance analysis
- Lead inventory counts, reconciliations, and variance resolution
- Maintain and enhance plant accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Support ERP enhancements related to cost and plant finance modules
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and corporate accounting standards
- Lead, mentor, and develop plant accounting and cost staff
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA or CMA strongly preferred
- 7+ years of experience in cost accounting, plant accounting, or manufacturing finance
- Strong knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis, and GAAP
- ERP experience required; advanced Excel skills
- Proven ability to partner with operations and influence plant leadership
- Hands‑on mindset with strong leadership and communication skills
The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the education, experience, location and skill set of the individual selected for this position.
