Senior Associate, Internal Audit (Issues Validation)

SMB Shared Services, Inc., 300 Continental Drive, Newark, DE 19713

Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday

Hybrid work permitted up to 3 days per week within a reasonable commuting distance of Newark, Delaware.

What you’ll do
  • Support the internal audit function by conducting audit procedures, assessing risks, and assisting in the development of internal controls.
  • Assist in the planning, execution, and documentation of internal audit procedures for financial, operational, and compliance audits.
  • Identify and assess risks, control weaknesses, and process inefficiencies, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Document audit work papers and findings in a clear and concise manner, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop comprehensive audit programs and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Participate in discussions with auditees to gather information, clarify audit observations, and assist in the development of corrective action plans.
  • Monitor and track the implementation of audit recommendations, ensuring timely resolution of identified issues.
What you have
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, or a related field of study and three (3) years of experience as an Internal Auditor or a related role where required experience was gained.
  • Or a Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, or a related field of study and one (1) year of experience as an Internal Auditor or a related role where required experience was gained.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in audit principles, methodologies, and standards such as IIA Global Internal Audit Standards.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations, frameworks, and standards such as Section
    39 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act, 12

    CFR Part
    30, Truth in Savings Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, and Community Reinvestment Act.
  • Experience with audit software such as Workiva and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with Model Risk Management processes, including best practices around maintaining and developing models, tools, and reviewing model documentation for adequacy and sufficiency.
